October Highlights

Blessing of the Animals

On Saturday and Sunday, October 1-2 we celebrated St. Francis Day, Blessing of the Animals by remembering St. Francis who called Christianity to embrace the first article of the Apostles Creed, God the Creator. Statuary of the man portray him with animals, God’s creatures on his shoulder, his arms and in his hands. As we celebrated St. Francis, we welcomed our creatures, our pets, for a blessing and a seat in worship.

Our pets were created by God and are loved by God. May they and their human families experience joy and companionship together and continue to be a blessing to each other.

Harvest Home

On Saturday and Sunday, October 8-9, we celebrated Harvest Home, a time to thank God for his many blessings, and a time to share with those less fortunate than ourselves. This year’s recipient of our Harvest Home donations was the Tri-Valley Food Closet. We thank those who shared with our neighbors in need, and a special thanks goes out to Yvonne Specht who decorated our Harvest Home collection and transported our donations to St John’s.

TLC Kid’s Choir

On Sunday, October 9th, our TLC Kid’s Choir touched our hearts when they sang “When I Look Up!” They did such a great job, and we so love to hear them sing their praises to God. We thank them and their Director, Kylene Kroh, for blessing us with their song.

The TLC Kid’s Choir will sing regularly the 2nd Sunday of every month! They practice every Sunday after Sunday School at 10:00 AM. Their next anthem will be November 13th. Hope to see all kiddos there, little to big (that means teenagers, too!)

Brethren Housing Association (BHA) Annual Celebration Banquet

On October 20th six people attended the Brethren Housing Association Annual Celebration banquet. Several speakers shared their involvement in the many services offered to families enrolled in the BHA program. The services are possible through the donations received. Hearing the passion board members, staff and vendor representatives have in doing the work required to prepare these families to thrive is contagious. The banquet had the highest attendance since it began. Trinity was able to donate $2,000 with money received entirely through donations and proceeds from the Community Aid Collection Bins located in the church parking lot.
