Holy Week
The oldest and most important Christian festival
The Christian faith is founded on Jesus' resurrection from the dead. Jesus is the one he had proclaimed himself to be: God's Messiah, our Savior. In him we have a life that is stronger than death.
A week of dramatic events
The Easter festival lasts one week (called "the Holy Week") and marks the end of Lent, which is a period of 40 fast days. The week begins with Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday and ends on Easter Sunday.
Palm Sunday
Palm Sunday focuses on the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem on a donkey. The people receive and honor Jesus as a king, singing and waving palm branches.

Maundy Thursday
Maundy Thursday is the Thursday before Easter. It commemorates the Last Supper, when Jesus shared the Passover meal with his disciples and instituted the Eucharist. The name "Maundy" comes from the Latin word "mandatum," meaning "commandment," referring to Jesus' command to love one another.

Commemorates Jesus’ body resting in the tomb. Jesus is silent. God is silent. The day between the struggle and the solution; the question and the answer. Trust God.
No Worship Service on Saturday evening, April 19th.
Easter, Festival of the Resurrection
Celebrates the resurrection of Jesus from the dead and his victory over death. An angel announced: "Don't be afraid! I know you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He isn't here! He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen." (Matthew 28:5-6, NLT)

Bible Study
Monday evenings, 6:00 PM in the Church Overflow
Our goal is to read the entire Bible in about a year and discuss what we’ve read. To do this we are using The Bible Recap, a One-Year Guide to Reading and Understanding the Entire Bible by Tara-Leigh Cobble in conjunction with The Bible Recap Journal, Your Daily Companion to The Entire Bible. For further information contact the church office.
All are welcome and your friends, too! It’s never too late to join us.

From Our Designated Pastor
I am your designated pastor, who serves as a pastor when a congregation is seeking a new pastor.
I will be available in the pastor’s office in the church for conversation, discussion about ministry, etc. on TUESDAYS and THURSDAYS from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
I will be attending Church Council meetings and other committees as our time together unfolds.
If an immediate family member (husband, wife, children) or extended family member is hospitalized, please call me directly and leave a message. I’d prefer hearing more than once rather than not at all.
What do you call me? “Pastor” is fine.
