June Highlights
Pentecost, June 5th
We confirmed the faith into which we are all baptized as two of our members pursued confirmation classes over the past two academic years. During our time together we experienced the Apostles Creed, the Ten Commandments, and the Lord’s Prayer. Martin Luther would be proud of us as we took seriously what he considered the basics of the faith and molded them for times and challenges of the second decade of the twenty first century. Congratulations to Ava Jayne Kramer and Kyle Robert Bowman.
And never do we forget their parents who commit to this process and see them to classes and to church and to Julie Ballay, Jason Kramer, and Ayden Rodichok (assistant) who committed to be adult guides who were present every Sunday and who led their small groups.
Vacation Bible School, June 6th thru June 10th
We completed another successful week of Vacation Bible School. Many thanks to the Christian Education Committee, Dara Troutman for coordinating the week, the teachers and helpers, all who contributed snacks, parents and all the children who made the week a success.
Happy Father’s Day
Noah, Abraham, Zebedee, Jairus, and Joseph; they were all fathers. Noah collected his family for the ark. Abraham’s fatherhood was put to the test. Zebedee had two sons who became disciples. Jairus had a daughter who depended on Christ’s miracle. And Joseph was Jesus earthly father who taught him carpentry. Today dads chauffer children to practice, see their children through COVID, some pursue employment at home, and teach their children how to hunt… Thank you for the many things that you fathers do.
