TLC Kids’ Choir!

The TLC Kids’ Choir will start singing regularly on the
2nd Sunday of every month!
We will practice after Sunday School every week.
We will start on Sunday, October 9.
All kids, little to big (that means the teenagers too!),
are invited to join! Don’t miss the fun!!

Harvest Home

Harvest Home will be celebrated on the weekend of October 9th. We look at this as a time to thank God for his many blessings, and also to share with those less fortunate than ourselves. This year’s recipient of our Harvest Home donations will be the Tri-Valley Food Closet. Donations can include anything that we’d usually place in our blue food closet cabinet. Tri-Valley Food Closet also accepts monetary donations that are then used to purchase perishable items for distribution. Please have all donations to the church overflow no later than Wednesday, October 5. Thanks for sharing with your neighbors in need.

Agape Table Meal

Trinity’s Agape Table Meal is held the second Wednesday of every month, at 5:30 PM in the Social Hall. It is always free, and no offering is ever taken. A sign up sheet is posted on the easel at the back of the sanctuary, or you can call the church office (570-682-9373) to register. Registration is not necessary, but it does give the Kitchen Committee an idea of how many will be attending. October’s meal will be held on October 12th, and the menu will be baked ham, sweet potato casserole, green beans, roll, and cake. Please join us for a free home cooked meal and some fellowship!

Cub Scout Awareness Event

On Thursday, October 13th at 6:30 PM leaders from Valley View Cub Scout Pack 662 will be hosting a Cub Scout Awareness event at Trinity Lutheran Church. The purpose of this event is to offer parents and youth (both boys and girls) in grades K-5 an opportunity to listen and learn what scouting has to offer. There will be a short video of past years’ Cub Scout activities, local Eagle Scouts sharing their experiences, Hawk Mountain Council representation and an opportunity to become a Cub Scout member. We will also provide light snacks and refreshments.

Trinity’s Youth Group

Trinity’s Youth Group reconvened on September 11th after a summer hiatus. We enjoyed a competitive game of nine-square and finished the evening with pizza and discussion.

Our next meeting will be held on Sunday October 16th from 6:00-7:30 PM. Youth from grades 6-12 are welcome to attend.

Reformation Sunday

Saturday, October 29 5:00 AM and
Sunday, October 30, 10:30 AM

As we participate with other congregations and denominations we need to understand who we are as Lutherans then we don’t feel threatened as in the days of yore. REFORMATION SUNDAY / OCTOBER 29 SATURDAY AT 5:00 PM AND SUNDAY AT 10:30 provides an opportunity to reflect.

Operation Christmas Child

Trinity will again be participating in Operation Christmas Child. This program uses gift-filled shoeboxes to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world. Please drop off your boxes at the church overflow during National Collection Week - November 14-21. The boxes will be taken to a drop off site on Sunday, November 21st. Please use a special Operation Christmas Child Box or a regular or plastic shoebox to pack your gifts and include a $10 donation to cover shipping expenses. The special boxes have been ordered and will be available in the back of the sancturary as soon as they arrive. An information pamphlet containing instructions to pack a shoebox and boy/girl labels will also be available on the display table. For more information about the program, ideas what to pack or not back in the shoe boxes, google Operation Christmas Child.
