March Highlights

Girl Scout Sunday

On Sunday, March 7th we welcomed scouts and leaders from Brownie Troup 31166 and Daisy Troop 31167. We are happy and proud to be their sponsoring organization, and we thank them for coming and helping to lead worship and take part in the morning’s events. We extend our appreciation to their leaders for their commitment to these girls and to their families for their love and support.

First Communion Instruction

During March, Pastor Diefenderfer prepared several of our young people to receive their first communion on Easter Sunday.  They learned why we need Communion, the Ten Commandments, Vocabulary of Communion, the Bible and Communion; they learned about and experienced a Passover Meal, and learned “It’s All About Trusting”.

Agape Free Community Meal

Our Agape Table Meal is continuing to provide monthly free meals. Because of COVID, we are doing this by takeout only. We served 118 takeout meals in March. That’s a new record! Our April menu will be roast pork, filling/gravy, corn, coleslaw, and dessert. If you haven’t signed up already, you can register by calling the church office and leaving your name, phone number, and number of platters you’ll be picking up. Deadline for registration is Tuesday, April 6th. Pick up of meals is between 4:30-5:15 on the day of the meal, April 14th. Kitchen Committee is hoping to be able to return to indoor only Agape Table Meals by the fall.

Sunday School

Sunday School is held every Sunday morning from 9:30 to 10:15 AM.  There are classes for:

* Nursery (parents are welcome to stay with their children)

* Kindergarten – 3rd grade

* 4-6 grades

* Confirmation

Beginning April 11th we will be studying Moses and the Ten Commandments which will take us to the end of the Sunday School program for this school year. 

Tree of Life

Leaves in honor or memory of loved ones or special events such as weddings, confirmations, baptisms are still available. The cost is $60 per leaf with proceeds designated for Christian Education. If interested, please complete a Leave Your Legacy form for each leaf. These forms can be found on the table behind the back pew in the sanctuary.
