October Highlights

Harvest Home

Thank you to everyone who contributed to our Harvest Home collection for St. John’s Food Closet. As Christians we are to feed the poor and help people who are in need. Feeding the needy is part of serving one another and as we serve others we are serving Christ. God provides for people through us.

Pot Pie Dinner

Our Pot Pie Dinner on October 24th was definitely a success thanks to everyone who purchased platters and our Kitchen Committee. The final totals are not yet in but all proceeds will be used for our project to help homeless mothers and children through the Brethren Housing Association.

Agape Community Meal

Our Agape Table free community meals are still on hold.  The Kitchen Committee will revisit the discussion of when to resume serving these meals at their November meeting.

Important Sunday School Announcement

Sunday School now welcomes back Pre-K children to our Primary class. Parents are welcome to come and stay with their children.

ELW (cranberry) Hymnals

If you’d like to order a hymnal in honor or in memory of someone, please use the order form included in the newsletter.  Each hymnal now costs $25 (50 cents was added to help defray shipping costs). You can obtain an order form which can be returned to the church office along with payment by clicking the link below.

Miles to Mend

In October, no Miles to Mend requests were received.  We are eager to continue to support those in need!  Nomination forms can be found in the office entrance.  Please consider nominating someone who has an ongoing health concern that requires medical travel.  The Discipleship Committee will continue this ministry during the pastoral vacancy.
