Baptism of Luna Emily Brown

Luna Emily Brown, daughter of Matthew and Adrianna Brown, was baptized on August 23rd.    Luna’s sponsors are Carlos Gutierrez and her Aunt Annie Kramer.  We welcome Luna into the Lord’s family.  We receive her as a fellow member of the body of Christ, child of the same heavenly Father, and a worker with us in the kingdom of God.  We extend our love and support to her as she grows in her knowledge and faith in the Word of God.  Luna, Let your light so shine before others that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven.

Singing during the service at Trinity has been missed!

After some Worship and Music members were contacted by others in the congregation asking about when singing could resume, more research was done regarding singing in the sanctuary.   The research that was found talked only about choral groups, choirs, and soloists; these singers would be singing more forcefully than most regular congregation members.  CDC guidelines do not mention congregational singing. The synod has given us guidelines, but those are meant to be adapted as needed by each congregation.  Remember, our synod covers large cities like Allentown and Reading, as well as small rural areas like ours.  Our congregation has shown responsibility in following rules since reopening.   Our members consistently socially distance and wear masks during services.  This being said, a motion was made, discussed, and passed at the council meeting on 8/11/2020 to allow singing of the first verse of each hymn by congregation members, providing they are masked, socially distanced, and singing quietly.  The liturgy will continue to be spoken.

Congratulations!
