October Highlights
Baptism of Maleah Mae Holden, October 20th
Maleah Mae Holden, daughter of Cade and Malery and sister of Maddex, was baptized on October 20th. We welcome Maleah as a fellow worker with us. We extend our love and support to her as she grows in her knowledge and faith in the Word of God.
Worldwide Communion and Gospel Sunday
Trinity participated in Worldwide Communion Saturday, October 5th and Sunday, October 6th. Worldwide Communion is a celebration that promotes Christian Unity and ecumenical cooperation. It takes place the first Sunday of every October. It is a day when we mark the almost universal Christian practice of breaking bread with one another and remembering both the night of Jesus’ betrayal and of Jesus’ sacrifice. During the Sunday service we enjoyed the Gospel music in the hymns and the anthem.
Agape Community Meals
Once again, we enjoyed a pleasant evening with what has come to be our Community Meal family. We thank those who faithfully prepare these meals each month, who serve them, who set up and clean up, donate items for the meals, and those 65 who attended and joined in the fellowship.
Harvest Home
Harvest Home was celebrated at Trinity on Saturday, October 12th and Sunday October 13th. For this special Harvest Home collection we received many needed food items and $80 for St John’s Food Closet. If you wish to continue to contribute financially to the Food Closet for the purchase of meat and perishable items you may designate an amount on the “Local Assistance Projects” line on your offering envelopes. Thanks to Yvonne Specht for setting up the fall display for the collection and to all who contributed to this important ministry in our community.
Joint Reformation Service
This year for the 502nd anniversary of the Reformation, we celebrated through a joint worship service at Friedens Hegins. Members of Trinity, Friedens, and St James worshipped together and then enjoyed lunch and a time of fellowship after the service. Thanks to Friedens for hosting and preparing the meal and to all who attended.
Miles to Mend
Our Miles to Mend fund was utilized once in the Month of October. As there are many people currently undergoing various treatments in our area, please feel free to nominate someone for a gas card that they may use for transportation for medical reasons. The only prerequisites are that they are traveling for an ongoing medical issue routinely and that they reside within the Tri-Valley School District. Nomination forms can be found in the office entry way at the church building.
Heartfelt Thanks
Special thanks to Alice Straub for making our new Activity Bags for use by children during the worship service. Also, special thanks to JoEllen Fetterolf for filling the bags with things for the kiddos to enjoy!
Also, special thanks to Sam Snyder for removing the dead tree in the church lawn to make way for the new tree. We appreciate it.
Marianna’s Pizza and Sub Sale to Benefit Mission Trip
We are pleased to report that we sold 72 subs and 56 pizzas for a profit of $314, all of which will be used for our Mission Trip. Thanks to all who supported this effort.
