Military Collection (January 1st - April 1st)
This year we are collecting for an Army Unit of Maintenance Mechanics that is stationed in the tiny nation of Kuwait, which you may remember from Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm in the 1990s. It gets very, very hot in Kuwait, and the list of items to be collected reflects that. We are collecting until April 1st (Easter Sunday):
- Sandals, both mens and womens, all sizes
- Sealed powdered laundry soap
- Dark polarized sunglasses (there is a heavy need)
- Sunscreen
- Female hygiene products with applicators
- Latex gloves
- Magazines
- Crossword puzzle books
- Ping pong balls
- Toothpaste
- Deodorant
- Baby wipes
- Beef Jerky
- Coffee
- Crackers
- Canned tuna
They also would greatly benefit from written letters of encouragement and support.
Please place donations on the Collection Table – the table in the back of the Overflow by the “God’s Work, Our Hands” sign and painting. All items will be packed up and shipped to this unit in the beginning of April and shipped out from Valley View all the way to Kuwait!
